Hi Everyone! It's been a long time since I wrote an article, but some things are really bothering me, like:
Why is it, every meeting attendees are usually just all stewards and a few members from some offices. With the way things are going right now, I can't help but wonder why more people are not coming to find out what's going on and what could happen to them. With all the Function 4's going on and rumors of making clerks NTFT's, again, I wonder why the heck you can't spend 2 hours tops once a month to attend a meeting. You will be the ones calling the office complaining we did nothing for you when some PM/manager gets you to take a NTFT job or you get excessed. If you had attended any meeting since the new contract, you would know that NOBODY can make a regular bid on an NTFT position unless you WANT to be a part-timer. In my opinion, management is using these Function 4's as a scare tactic to get the unknowledgeable/uninformed clerk to bid. Once you bid, you are done and I don't want to hear from anyone who was not at a meeting say "I didn't know" because my response will be, had you attended a monthly meeting you would have known better. So, to help yourself, you should attend the next meeting. Like I said before, it is 2 hours once per month and could save you from making a big mistake! Your union meets the fourth Wednesday of every month! Make plans now to attend!

In union solidarity,
